In the middle of herculining...PLEASE HELP
Ok this is going to sounds really stupid. I've read through almost every single thread on here in regards to herculining/bedlineing. Everything ive heard says one gallon of herc. will paint the interior of a jeep with 2 coats. I just layed the first coat. Wow that stuff smells and it sucks when you get it on your skin. But after the first coat there is till 3/4 of a gallon left. Am I doing it right? I mean the coat i put down seems rather thick and some paint is barely visible. Just seems like more should have been used.

I did 3-4 coats in the front and 2 coats in the back. That is about all you will get out of one gallon. I used a brand called plasti-coat from walmart (cheaper).
Use your best judgement if you fill it is pretty thick and on good then just move on to the back. I waited about 30 min between coats on mine. It is also not bad to have a lil left over for some touch-ups in the future.
There is no set amount that it takes to do the inside of a Jeep.

I think I waited 1-2 hours to put my second coat on. But I didn't use it directly out of the Can. I poured it in a plastic thing till it was full, then if I needed more I filled it back up again, so the herculiner in the can didn't get thick.
But I only did two coats, and its still fine.
Maybe if you have some left over save it (just make sure its sealed tight) or use it somewhere else.

It was the middle of summer and I had the Jeep out of the garage. By the time I got done with one complete coat the part that I had started at had already been sitting there for what 45 min... I waited an additional 30 minutes then started the whole process again. I don't remember it being real tacky. It took me a half a day to apply. I waited till the next day to put the carpet and seats back in the front and left the carpet out of the back.
Its been awhile so I don't remember specific details. Here is a post back from when I did it.

Decided to finally finish my floor decided to go with some RhinoLining well actually Plasticoat from walmart. Perty good stuff and cheaper also.
First had to finish the last hole. (ran out of sheet metal) Found some old license plate and my buddy had just installed hood vents so combo of those too gave me enough.
Now it is time to line it
Prep work is the most important here. I sanded and grinded all the paint i put in there and started rolling it on.
3 coats up front and 2 in the back before i ran out. This stuff is great.
