My wife was driving my 03 WJ and noticed a squeal from the middle rear of the vehicle, I got in and drove it and heard same squeal but only when the engine was not under power. Parked it, got under it, and traced squeal to of all things...the fuel filter! The squeal was generated at the outlet side of the filter, which is new from NAPA. If I wiggle the line at the connection the squeal stops briefly but quickly returns, no performance issues, just the annoying squeal. Any one ever have this problem?

Not familiar with your year but do the stems just slide into O-Rings? Could be the increased pressure against an O-Ring, this will end up leaking before too long. If so then I would remove it and wipe a small amount of grease on the stems and put it back making sure it is pointed the right direction. If it still does it then something inside the filter is not assembled correctly and loose enough to vibrate during increased pressure. In which case you may have to return it and try another one.

The pressure regulator is inside the filter and it sounds like it's generating the sound as it's bleeding overpressure back to the tank. It doesn't sound right to me.
