I need to know what kind of locker would be good for me? . stock 2001cherokee sport daily driver i go offroad now and than...THANKS

 

if your stuck on locker then i would go with powertrax for cost or if you could afford it then the arb system. but otherwise if you don't do anything difficult then i would go with dretroit limited slip diff mostly because you stay on the street. Lockers are a rough drive but many people dd theirs with lockers so that is up to you. Others with more experience should be able to chime in more.

 

I would recommend looking at a good limited slip. I have a locker in my DD and have so much noise and strange actions that some passengers are afraid to ride with me. Got pulled over because the locker made a snapping noise that was so loud the cop next to me pulled me over to ask me if everything was ok.

 

PowerTrax No-Slip locker in our '98......almost invisible.....'cept for those two black marks visible in the rear view mirror. About 2 hours to install....no ring/pinion set-up.

I use lockers on my DD. For the "Lunch Box" set ups. Power traxx are decent. Never had an issue. Detroit locker in the rear is my fav.
ARB's are over rated and over priced. But it's a selectable locker. Detroit makes a selectable locker as well. E-Locker I believe it's called.
Personally. I don't think you can go wrong with any locker. Just depends on your driving style.
With front being locked (not selectable) and no manual hubs. It drives fine.
I'm bias though. I'm a fan of OX and the Detroit lockers so far. The Power Traxx is hard to beat for the price and performance though. I've used it. No complaints.
The non-Selectable lockers will make a little bit of pop sound. No biggie. Can't get to heavy on the gas. You'll wrap yourself in a circle in no time.

 

DJB383 stated he would recommend a Power Trax No-Slip. Not a Power Trax they are different lockers the No-Slip is silent. Detroit doesn't make the E-Locker Eaton does. Eaton bought out Detroit and now Detroit locker is really an Eaton Detroit Locker.

If they have it available for the 35 use a Spartan locker. Same as other lunchbox lockers but stronger bigger pins and hardened shaft. They havnt had one break yet and it has a no tire size restriction warranty

 

i would go with a good limited slip like the detroit tru trac, i have a tru trac up front and a detroit locker out back. cant even tell the locker is there, till i put it in 4 wheel drive that is!
