Default Just pull?

So to remove a the rear driveshaft, just in bolt it from the pinion, and it will pull right off of the output shaft on the t case? I tried doing this at a JY a while ago but couldn't pull it of. Is there anything else that needs done? Thanks.

If has a slip yoke at the TC it should judt slide off, once diconnected at the Pinion. IF it has been upgraded with a SYE, it will unbolt from the flange at the TC also.

IF there are Bolts holding the U-joint at the TC and a slip joint in the middle of the shaft, like the front. It has a SYE, you will un bolt at the U-joint front and rear. If it has a SYE, take the TC tail housing and output shaft also.

Lol I know what an SYE is, but thanks for the info. If I find one with an SYE, I'm definitely taking it haha.

Those bolts at the pinion are 8 mm right?

So when I pull the drive shaft off my jeep, should I have the tranny in any special gear?

No but having it in neutral makes it easier. Don't forget to chock the wheels because once you take that shaft out your park gear no longer does anything and we all know how effective our emergency brakes are.
