jeep dies when it reaches operating temp please help
hey guys i have a 93 jeep cherokee that likes to die when it gets to operating temp. it only dies when in gear and i press on the brakes to stop or when i go to take off. i have replaced the crank shaft position sensor and the whole distributor with the cam shaft position sensor. i have replaced the asd relay and it still dies. when i first got the jeep it would just die so i replaced the crank shaft sensor and then it would spit and spudder and back fire really bad so i replaced the distributor but still did it so i took the new crank shaft sensor back and got another new one and now its back to the dying thing. any one out there got a solution to my problem im all out of ideas. also the fuel pump is putting out 47 psi in the fuel rail so not that, plugs are good to.

This may sound weird but I know of more than a few folks who had this problem and it was the bolts holding the trans to the engine were loose. Since the CPS is mounted to the trans and the CPS is triggered by the engine's flywheel, the movement between the two caused an interuption to the signal.

Crazy thing, mine did that just from an exhaust leak for a while.. Threw off the o2 sensor enough that it killed it every once in a while at a stop sign

Check your fuel pump again. Check it 5 or 6 times. Bc Ive had the same problems as you. And my fuel pump was dying out when it got hot. I had 53 lbs at the rail and then I shut it off and check it again. it was barely able to idle and had 12lbs at the rail. Once it get's over 160* it would start acting up.
the o2 sensor isnt tripping any codes and after it dies there isnt any spark but if i let it sit for a bit the spark comes back and fires right up. i checked the trans bolts that bolt to the engine and the flywheel bolts all tight even checked the mount bracket bolts all tight. i just changed all spark plugs and wires again regaped all of them to .035.
