Default jeep died today

Was cruising at about 35 and it just shut down. I get spark and fuel. But I was thinking fuel pressure might be low. I already replaced cps within the last year. How much fuel pressure do I need and will low pressure cause it to completely not start.

For a 1994, you need 31 psi for the engine to run. Verify it with a GAUGE, and yes....low fuel pressure can absolutely cause a no start.

Also verify the "quality" of spark. Do not underestimate this. You need a strong, blue, snapping spark. Yellow/orange/white indicates a weak spark, which can be caused by a failing ignition coil.

Ok so I had a coil that I never put on so I went ahead and changed it. Still no start. Im going now to get a fuel pressure tester.

Fuel pressure tester was $50 bucks(they didn't have one I could rent) so I just bought fuel pump for $70. Did the swap and still no start. Will CPS allow me to get spark still even if bad? What's going on? Or mabye some fuse. Im getting both spark and fuel.

Do you know if the injectors have a pulse going to them? A "noid light" is something that only costs a few bucks that will tell you that in a hurry. You could try a splash of fuel into the intake. If the engine runs for a few seconds, that indicates that you have a problem with fuel delivery to and through the injectors.

So now that you have a fuel pressure gauge, what is the pressure when you try to start it? Remember that you also have a fuel pressure "regulator" as part of your fuel system along with the pump.

And did you look closely at the quality of the spark? (check that even if you replaced the coil).

If the crank sensor is bad, normally you will NOT have spark, so if you have spark, the problem is most likely something else.

The camshaft position sensor is another possibility. It is located inside of the distributor and it can be tested with a meter and a manual. It controls fuel injector timing along with some other things.

You're going to need to "test" your way to a solution from this point on. Don't replace parts based on a hunch. It is terribly ineffective and gets expensive in a hurry!

I already tried pouring gas down intake but nothing. I have to start trying to do some tests. Thanks for all the help so far. Ill keep updating as I figure things out.

Let's do this the easy way.

Start here

Spark

pull a plug and put it up to the block. If you get spark, you can rule out your CPS and Cam sensor. (for the most part)
Fuel
Run a pressure test.
Check the injectors with a multimeter. The Fuel Injector resistance should be within 13.3 to 15.7 Ohms (1991-95) or 10.8 to 13.2 Ohms (1996-2001)
Oxygen
Check your air filter. if the engine is sputtering, will it start if you give it more throttle?
Compression
Grab a compression tester and do work.

P.S. Check your fuel line filter.

Ok I figured it now. Within the last year or so I replaced plugs wires cap rotor fuel filter and reg. So I pulled dis cap off to check cam sensor and notice the pos rotor I replaced fell apart. Wtf. New rotor and where up and running again. Thanks for all the help.
