Installing fan shroud/is removing mechanical fan difficult?

FWIW. I’ve been running a 98 for 3 years and no shroud and it doesn’t run hot at all. Also have another 98 I removed just the shroud not the fan when I did the water pump. Also just removed the shroud not the fan on my 01 when I did the alternator. Sure it seems as though it won’t come out for a minute but then you get it just right and it’s out. Not sure if the 96 is different.
Also I tried removing the fan from a 99 I have and it wasn’t happening. Then I got a totaled 98 and the fan came off pretty easy so one never knows I guess.

Factory design comes out of a 96 with fan/radiator in place.

Remember with serpentine belts, the threads are reversed.
