Default Ignition broken?

Recently I put an auto starter system in my 1994 cherokee and it came out great but all of a sudden today the key will not turn all the way forward to start the motor, it only goes just so far then no more. I don't want to force it and break it altogether because at lest now I can use the auto start the turn the key on for power. Any suggestion what it could be? maybe the rod that travels down the steering wheel or the ignition lock itself? ...Thanks ...Tj

sometimes the tumbler can do this also, but if it is the switch it is easy to get to,just make sure you adjust it right.

it might be your tumbler or just overall ignition? some pins might have fallen out or are really loose causing it to bind.

It's hard to say. It could be the lock or the switch. Does the key feel like it actually moves less than before? Is it just a coincidence that this happened after you recently installed the auto-start? Has it started with the key since you installed same? I'm grasping at straws here Joe.

Well it started after it was installed but it feel mechanical like the key wont go all the way sometime then other times its OK. I'm thinking the rod that goes through steering wheel is binding...Tj

Joe, I'm totally at a loss here. My automotive memory's gone, and you have more knowledge on Jeeps than I. I would try to find a fault in the linkage I guess. Sorry I can't be of more help Joe.
