Default How to Remove Antenna 93 cherokee

Hi - my jeep had the broken windows, remember? Got a cover, not for a jeep but it's big enough and nice. I need to either poke a hole in the cover, or remove the antenna.

I can't figure out how to get the antenna off, it's not as easy as it seems. Not elecrtic, just ordinary wire antenna. How do you remove it? I'm about to punch a hole in the cover or snap the antenna off!

Oh so you only come around when you need something huh?
Guess that is how it is. LOL.
So no idea how a '93 is set up and I always assumed the one on my '00 just unscrewed.
So I went and looked.
I would tell you the size but I guesstimated wrong on that and brought out the wrong wrench. LOL.

Grab the base with a pair of slipjoint pliers then use a properly sized wrench or a small pair of pliers to remove the antenna itself. Remeber righty tighty l, lefty loosey.

If the antenna mount has a stud after you remove the mast, you should put a tennis ball over it so to doesn't punch a hole in your cover.

Haha, I ran out of cash for repairs and did what I could. That antenna isn't the same as mine, I ended up slicing a tiny hole in the cover for the antenna, but not before loosening the antenna, so now I'll have to fix that. For the last couple of months I've hunkered the windowless thing in a covered parking spot, but my neighbors didn't seem too happy about it. As soon as I parked my other car next to it so I could jump it (same parking pass number), someone keyed my new car. ERG people are so mean. Still, I snagged a sweet parking spot at the back of the apt complex lot to do the window replacement.

BTW, a car cover for a 2016 Toyota Forerunner works pretty good on a '93 Jeep Cherokee. A little long in the front but it worked great. $60, used/like new from Craigslist.

I want y'all to appreciate this, my fam objected to me keeping the Jeep, they lobbied hard for me to junk it. No way, I said. It's mine. The engine is tops. The tires are new. I'm fixing it and I'm keeping it and you can't stop me. I found the cover, jumped it, covered it and moved it all by my lonesome.

Still, I snagged a sweet parking spot to do the window replacement.

I'll bet that when I'm done they will want to borrow it. :-D

On my 96 I think I loosened mine with vise grips (careful not to scratch it) when I was painting my jeep and now its hand tight and easily removable.

If you're talking about the bottom mounting bezel, it's anticlockwise. I wouldn't remove that because the bottom of the mount is only accessible from inside the fender.
