well my problem still has not come back... i cleaned my grounds..just to do it... its still cold here...

 

I did not read all of the posts as I'm on my phone , but my 96 acted similar. I checked and changed all kind of stuff , ended up both o2s fixed it.

 

Not kind of or sort of but exactly the same. Any closure on this? Would be nice to get mine running better. 89 2door with 2000 motor.

The last two items that put the nail in my 87 renix hesitation's coffin were a new vacuum harness and a new O2 sensor. I did a ton other stuff before as well, but nothing quite got rid of it totally.

 

Of the tips in my Pink Link below, how many have you completed?

 

Unfortunately I never solved my problem. I had to sell it. Was wasting to much money on it. At the end it started to have really big issues like the number one spark plug was busting in side the cylinder. Wish I could have solved it.

 

Cruiser, I have completed all of the tests. When I put the new motor in I inadvertently broke the tab on the distributor. Did not show up for 100 mi. or so. It spit it out. Put a reman one in. It now eats dist. gears. Must have hit the cam and damaged teeth. Have new cam (aftermarket upgrade) lifters and bearings to install now.
