Looking to do my rockers and up the side of the Jeep to the first body line. Can i just apply herculiner or should i scuff the paint. There is some rust to deal with. or should i get some por 15 and cover everything with that first.

Definitely scuff. I used a red Scotch Brite pad and it worked brilliantly. Herculiner is on and it ain't coming off!
Definitely wear gloves and full coverage clothing that you don't mind having black specks all over. Stuff gets everywhere and it don't come off.

You do not want to use herculiner over exsisting rust tho correct? If i just paint the side of the jeep with POR 15 over the light surface rust and then cover it up Herculiner i should be good right! I guess the question is do you need to do any prep for the POR 15. Going to need both anyway when i do the the floors in my Comanche. What do you guys think?
X2 on the scotch pads. rough it up as much as you can. POR it, let it cure for however long, then scotch pad the por 15, because it has a rock solid, non-porous finish that wont accept anything, including herculiner. put on your 2 coats of liner, and voila!

For the por, make sure and use the metal ready product first. This neutralizes the rust, and I think etches the bare metal (it has been a while since I used it). POR has a primer product that you can use that will bound to the POR and let you paint over it.

Which would be a better idea to use on the undercarriage? I want to take off the terrible coating thats on it right now and put something more durable on that exposed metal.

looks like its going to get expensive. If the rust was not there on the bottom of the door, it would be fine. now i just need to find a heated building to do the work in....
