Default Herculiner VS Rustoleum

I was at the Auto Zone today and was wondering If I should spend 29.99 for a can of roll on Herculiner bedliner or 17.99 for the same size can on roll on Rustoleum Bedliner. I am using it on the bottom of my jeep were is is painted gray. Figured I would get some other peoples input. I have not seen what the Rustoleum one looks like just the Herculiner. I dont love the Herculiner. Does anyone have a picture of the rustoleum type?

Look in my gallery, painted my whole jeep with plastikote roll on which I would imagine would be comparible to the rustoleum roll on. I have a quart of herculiner that I am going to play with come spring. From my understanding, the herculiner is quite a bit thicker than the other stuff. Also harder to clean up. I am pretty impressed with the plastikote tuff thus far. The only part that it has flaked off is the bumper end caps due to the flex in the rubber. Other than that, hard as a rock. Took a screwdriver to it, and was very impressed.

Just understand that neither of these have good UV protection and after a few short months in the sun, they will start to break down. They will turn a really crappy fated light grey and get very blotchy.

Default UV protection

Herculiner makes a uv top coat that you put on after the herculiner to keep it from fading. I contacted them and they said that it should be compatible with other brand diy bedliners. It is a water based product so it cuts down the risk of a reaction.

Mine has been on at least a month and a half if not 2 months, and there has been no fading. Maybe because I am up north, as compared to down south somewhere, but there really is no color change yet. And that UV top coat can be applied whenever it begins to fade to regloss it up. I will prolly go over mine with the UV top coat in the spring just for the heck of it even if I don't have any fading.

Sounds good. So I may just go with the rustoleum brand them. Save the money and I really dont like the look of the Herculiner.
