Default HELP!! rear disc swap

I recently bought a rear disc swap from a ZJ for my 94 cherokee with 8.25. I am right now trying to place the backing plate onto the axle..and only 2 of the holes that the bolts go in, line up!? What does this mean? In the write ups there was nothing written about drilling out the holes for the 4 bolts to go in?

Please help!

The backing plate has to be redrilled.

X2^^^This is not a bolt on mod. IIRC, even with the 2 bolts in place that will fit, the backing plate would not be centered. I think all 4 holes need redrilling, in order to center the BP.

Besides redrilling the backing plate, you will also need to have two spacers either made or you can buy them from teraflex for about $15,they take up the space you loose from the old backing plate, the spacers maintain preload on the bearing seals, you will need to r&r the bearings to install the spacers.

TJ D44 retainers work well. They'll need to be redrilled as well.
About $11 each from the dealer.

Your axel is not a Chrysler 8.25" if the 4 mounting holes don't line up. If it were an 8.25 all you would have to do is open the center bore. It's most likely a Dana 35 so you need to reference the write-up for that axel. Post a picture if you would like clarification.

X2 you beat me to it. it is "almost" a bolt on mod if you have a 8.25, with just a little grinding on the center.
