Installing my new Stroker and I’ve got a problem, the end of my shift shaft was corroded and came off trying to undo the shift cable nut, so I need to take the transmission apart and replace it.
I’m in the U.K. and can’t find a shift shaft here anywhere or as a new part to order from the US.
Does anyone have any idea of the part number or where I could find a new one please?
Thanks!
What it should look like What it does look like, no room for the nut to secure it Fresh stroker going in
Here's an online parts guide. Enter the particulars for your XJ and it will provide a breakdown and part numbers. I don't know if it will list that shaft separately.

Awesome, the part number is very useful for the sleeve
contacting the usual suspects via email and chat isn’t coming up with anything yet, one will turn up eventually I’d just rather find a new one and get it shipped ASAP now everything else is ready to go on the build.
I had this exact problem on a 93 ZJ. Same AW4 trans and the threads twisted off before the nut came loose. I must confess, I did a very redneck fix but it worked great.
I held the lever arm in place and did a real quick weld bead across the remains of the threads and the arm. Quick spot weld, let it cool, repeated it. Didn't leak and held for at least 7yr and 80k miles before I sold it.
I also considered trying to drill and tap the end of the shaft to run a small bolt and washer in to hold the lever, but laziness, the path of least resistance, and a gung-ho attitude made me try the welder first.

I’ll be going full redneck if I can’t find one soon 😁
