Doors will unlock but not lock
I removed a remote start/ after market keyless entry that the previous owner installed this evening and now the doors will only unlock from the switch and lock from the stock remote. Any ideas what could be wrong? I just replaced the passenger lock switch last week.

As I recall, there are two door lock relays. Try swapping them and see what happens. If the aftermarket system used those stupid scotchlock clip on taps, they might have cut the wire to the relay inside.

What relays? Everything worked fine until I removed the system. They did a bad job on the installation and it was a hazard.

I would think that cut wires is likely, too. Test for continuity and discontinuity from the wires in the overhead keyless entry module and door switch.
Also, I think that your model year is susceptible to wearing of the wires inside of the rubber boots in the driver's side door between the door and the body.

I don't have access my service manuals at the moment. Does it work any different from the passenger side controls? I'd go back and look at everything you removed. How did they attach the wiring, cut&splice or use the snap-on wire connectors? This might also help

Found my service manual. Looks like the relays are internal in the passenger side control module, and not in the fuse box like the earlier models I was thinking of. The module in the passenger door is the "master", getting the inputs from the drivers door and keyless module, and actually controls the power to the door lock solenoids. You might double check that the wiring you repaired is connected up correctly.

So I'm reading in the FSM and come across this statement: "The power lock inhibit feature, which prevents the doors from being locked by the power lock system if the driver door is open with the key in the ignition switch or with the headlamp switch in the On position."
Could it be something as simple as this? Operator error? I'll check tonight.
