My wife's '97 GC has a wierd quirk where sometimes while you are driving down the road the doors will automatically lock, then unlock, then keep loking multiple times (one time it happend for about an hour on the way to detroit...very annoying). What could be causing this? Is there an easy fix? Anybody else have the same problem? Any help would be appreciated!

Really stupid thought, but do you think an extra fob could be "lost" inside the vehicle and keeps getting squeezed or pinched in a tight spot, thus causing this problem? Sometimes it's the dumbest things ...

I never thought of that but it could be the case. I know there is some sort of security feature that locks the doors once you put it in drive and start down the road. Maybe its just locking over and over again because of this signal. Is there any way to disable this signal?

You never know...the radio in mine turns it self up and down all the time. lol.

sounds like a switch is going bad. My XJ did that until i replaced the passenger side switch, Thats where I would start.

Thanks, thats where I will start, probably start driver's door first then passenger's up front and see how it goes.

Try taking the driver side door panel off and check the wiring that connects to that door lock/unlock assembly, then check the whole switch assembly that mounts to that elbow rest. Probably have a loose wiring connection.
