Y jeep once had ac but I guess it was removed anyway the issue is with the temperature control. My heat works however, I cannot adjust the temp. I can adjust the strength of the fan as well as where the air comes from (floor cents defrost both etc..) but u cannot change the temp to cooler. I have tried taking off the **** and turning the dial as well, not a **** issue. Any suggestions?

It's a 1999 cherokee sport 4.0l automatic w 4 wheel drive Someone told me it could be the blend door. Is there a way to test it before hand I believe if it's a blend door motor or anything than I will have to remove the whole dash which is a Huge pain in the neck.
Pull off the actuator on the bottom and try to spin the blend door. If it doesn't move, it's broke because of the actuator. A company makes a metal one that's damn fantastic and installs from the bottom. Granted you have to use a rotary saw to do that. There is a way to do it without the dash in there through the vent holes but that's a 5 hour ordeal I wouldn't wish on anyone.

So you're saying I don't have to remove the dash to test and fix it? Because I removed the day once and let me tell you it was horrible. I mean I'm not very mechanical anyway thank god for the Haynes manual ...
I've got the dash down to a 45 minute removal. But the quick and easy way is to remove that actuator and see if that little adapter piece that goes into the door just spins. You should easily be able to tell if the door os broke or not from there.

Ok I'm back and so ready to fix this thing. Lol. I've been searching the web for a walkthrough on how to test it the way you said but I can't find anything. All I see if stuff for the grand cherokee. Can you walk me through it? Sorry I'm not very mechanically inclined, but I am cheap so I'll try and figure it out.
