Default Glasspack ?

I bought a Cherry Bomb Glass pack today. I got it from Pepboys, they only had 1 that was 2 1/4 in and out. It is 23 inches long. Is that to long or will it be fine? Should I take it back and have them order a shorter one?

should work ok. Personally I like flow masters for the sound. g-packs sound good too especially after some wear.

Depends on how u measure 23", the muffs case or total length. 2.25" dia. s/b fine.

I know the in and out is 2.25 but the length of the glasspack is 23 inches. Do you think it will fit if I cut some of the tail pipe off right before the hanger?

yeah almost any muffler you buy for the xjs run long anyways you gotta cut the originals out so you shouldn't have a problem....on a personal note i'd leave the cat or go with a different muffler because i cannot stand a loud straight 6 but thats me

I wouldn't cut anything 'till u get under it, hold the new muff up to the old muff and take measurements. Like they say, measure twice (I prefer 15-20 times) and cut once.

Well if you dont want pipe sticking out anymore, then just get a turndown and an extra clamp. And remove the muffer/tailpipe

No muff would be really loud but a turn-down after the muff simplifies the install.

watch the state laws...most want the pipe to exit the passenger compartment which is the body of the xj or the cab of a pick up

Pa state laws require exhaust pipe to exit pass. compartment. Tomorrow after work I will do putting the glass pack on so we will see what happens.

I put a 26 inch one and used a turndown and mine is pretty quiet but louder then stock i think if you are running a tail pipe your 23 inch will be even quieter then mine. I also kept my stock cat

Watch the talk of running with no cats.
Not only is it frowned on by Cherokee Forum it's also illegal

I am not taking my cat off. And I worked late today so I didn't have a chance to put the cherry bomb on. So as soon as I have a chance to do it I will let you guys know how it goes.
