Default Stupid question but need a different suggestion

Hey guy's, the other night my sister was in my jeep with her friend and they "accidentally" broke my rear view mirror off. I went and got one of them kits from Advance Auto and followed the instructions. I also did this on another car my dad used to have, a ford explorer, and it did not work. Well I did what it said, clean, put adhesive on, put the button on the windshield and let it sit over night. Went to put the mirror on today and the button effortlessly fell of the glass. SO, basically them kits are ****ty as they have never worked for me. So i'm wondering what else I could use to attach the button? Super glue? lol. Sorry for the long post over something simple but I really need my rear view mirror I use it a lot and i hang my school parking pass from it so doing away with it is not an option. Thanks

Mike

I would say super glue would work. Or go to your loacal windshield shop and see if they will sell you something. They attach rear views all day long.

The windshield needs to be cleaned properly for the kit to work. The damp rag won't cut it if you want anything to stick to it. I would pick up another kit and clean the glass with alcohol before gluing. things work if you do them right the first time...

if it's cold it probably won't take d/t condensation and improper glue cure. I've never had one that didn't work.
