Default gas line check valve

From posts on this forum, I've determined that the most probable reason that my jeep (01 Sport) will only start after cranking 2 or 3 times is that the check valve in the fuel line is faulty. Can someone point me to the correct replacement part? Also where is the best (easiest) place to install it? Thanks.

^^ Yep. You'll have to drop the tank and remove the fuel pump assembly. And chances are you're best off to replace the whole module.

On my 95 you dont have to drop the tank. Also if it was me I wouldnt crank it, but just turn the key on for 10 sec then off 3 times and crank it until I just had to replace the pump, I have even seen them unstick before and work just fine.

It's true, you don't have to crank it, just let it prime 3 different times and be on your way. And also, on pre-97 Cherokees, the fuel pump module is more accessible as it is at more of an angle on the front of the tank. On the OP's 2001, the module is directly on top of the tank.

Default gas line ck valve

Seems I read here somewhere that someone put one in the line and paid about $10 for the valve.
