In yuma AZ all they do is race jeeps they go faster then most people think.. a lot of people just look at it as being a rock crawler, haha you would not belive what people do to the motors on the cherokee.here.
a 2wd XJ with a half decent rear axle, drag radials, gears, and a 100shot would move like nobodys business. been runnin spray on my mustang for a couple years now, great cheap, safe n easy way to make power.
that being said, u couldnt pay me to go over 85mph in a stock height cherokee lol

I got my 99 stock cherokee up top 120mph on the 5 in northern CA. And my stock 2000 up to 100mph. I've only done 90mph in my current Cherokee 3' lift on 31x10.5 BFG all terrains.

There is just something exhilarating about having the needle pinned to the M on the mph marking on the bottom of the speedo.
"Do you know why I pulled you over"
"no sir, why?"
"well, do you know how fast you were going?"
"well sir, M?"

My dad's XJ is really quick for what it is. 6" lift, 33s, 3.55 gears, 100lbs or bumper and plating, another 100lbs of junk, it'll still do 60 in 8-10 seconds. Idk what the deal is, but it works
Mine on the other hand is the typical XJ. Mild lift, 31s, stock gears, 0-60 in 10 seconds on a really good day
But it'll do over 100mph in 3rd gear, I ran out of road though
Put a set of really stiff springs in the back, even helper springs would do it. I think that's what my dad's jeep has going for it. You know when you hit a bump in that. Otherwise gears would do you a lot of good. Try on a set of 4.56s with those 30s
