i need the engine torque specs for the 4.0l engine of my 91 cherokee. or atleast where i can find them. what book would have a full set? i am doing an engine rebuild and its useful to have these so it doesnt... blow up.

where did you get those numbers? do you know of any walkthroughs or instructional books on these engines? its my first 242 rebuild and id like to make it as easy on myself as possible.

I am a little confused, it looks like all of the torque specs are first number foot pounds second number Newton meters. But the oil pan numbers seem high to me for foot pounds… I can’t imagine them being over 100 pounds , in fact, way under can you clarify?

 

This is an old thread, a quick google search would've given you your answer.
But if you look closely it says inch lbs.

The TSM has 50 ft/lb,,, The Larry shepard 4.0 book has 80 ft/lb

I believe the TSM is correct
