Default Engine Tick?

I just bought this 1999 Jeep Cherokee and I am worried about this sound... Any help?

4.0L Inline 6

Engine has a rough idle, poor gas mileage, oil pressure goes between 30-60

I hear injector noise, a possible exhaust leak and maybe some lifter noise. Mine sounds like a diesel when idling but goes quiet when revved. 4.0s are noisy critters anyway. I bet someone her can do better diagnosing than me tho. Hows it run ?

Did it sound like that when you were looking at it to buy? Or did it start mysteriously after you brought it home......

Basically, I am just trying to figure out my best course of action. There are some other things I am planning on fixing (rust on passenger floor pans) and I just want to be sure it is worth it.

Is there anything quick and cheap I can do to try to fix it? Is this something that's not that big of deal? Is it something that I should just sell?

Help an XJ noobie out haha

Doesn't sound like anything catastrophic. What's it look like under the oil filler cap? Clean? Sludged?

Yep, and use a Wix oil filter.

Look into the oil filler cap to assess the sludge.
