Default Ebay Bosch 748 Injectors

So, I ordered some 4 hole Bosch 748s from eBay. Finally arrived and they're blue 6 hole! WTF?!?
The markings on the injectors are numbers "438" on one side and numbers "927" on the other.
Can anyone advise what these are if not 748 injectors?

Thanks!

0280155923 are comparable injectors. PM me if they don't work out for you.

Are you refurbishing them now?

6 hole? First I've heard of them. Might have to give those a look when I rebuild my 98's engine.

My thoughts.

Whole ton of crappo injectors coming from chicom. Better to get refurbished.
Not only are the commie ones of poor quality, the applications aren't accurate.

Yeah, I don't buy from eBay unless there is no alternative.

We now have a "local" source for injectors.

If you head over to Fuel Injector Connection's website, you can get remanufactured Bosch 4 hole injectors for $150. I installed them in my Jeep about a month ago and it runs significantly smoother through the rev range. I have a buddy who has built strokers for years now and he uses them without any issues.

A lot of these eBay injectors you find (4, 6, 12 hole) will fit your motor, but they are really meant for another motor as the spray pattern isn't ideal. If I recall correctly, that's the case with Ksuspension's 12 hole injectors. I can sit down at a computer and explain at a later time.

On my 2000 XJ I went with the 12 hole 0280156161 Bosch injectors and so far no issues.Idles better and seems to have little better acceleration.

I found a big improvement when I went to 4 hole from the stock one hole. I suspect the 12 hole are somewhat better than the 4, and a lot better than the 1 hole, but I doubt going from 4 to 12 is a big enough jump to be worth it.

That's all scientifically non-tested absolute opinion, of course, based on looking at the spray patterns in YouTube videos.

Everything I've read 4-12 jump ain't worth it but guess if you get them for free then go for it. Me I went from the old stock 1 hole so I said go 12 or go home!

There are a few guys on here that are refurbishing and flow matching Bosch injectors for a lot less than that. I agree to avoid the eBay ones, as they tend to be cheap knock-offs and I've seen a lot of complaints about the quality. Honestly, most of the improvement people are seeing is simply due to replacing the dirty oem injectors with clean ones, and there is no real improvement from 4-hole to 12-hole. If anything, the 12-hole injectors should foul easily, having smaller holes.

The exact point I was going to make. 12 hole injectors need better filtration to not get plugged up. Jet turbine engines usually have single hole injectors, but the fuel pressure creates a very fine mist and the fuel needs to be kept absolutely clean. They are changed for new ones when the spray pattern shows shadows in the pattern. Ours in jeeps are like squirt guns! Multi-hole injectors create finer fuel droplets that burn quicker.

One of the biggest problems with jet fuel is fungus grows in it unless treated with fungicides and must be filtered out.

Here;s a great video comparison of the chinese 4-port and 12-port versus quality injectors. It's pretty clear the chinese ones have poor spray patterns and mismatched flow rates.

(There is a certain irony here, as I've seen a few posts accusing ksuspection of selling the chinese knockoffs as oem)
