Are these injectors an "upgrade"?
I came across some injectors I can't identify by p/n, but they appear to be a direct replacement for the Seimens stock injectors or at least the ones in my '95 XJ SE, 4.0, 4x4. A friend of mine that used to dabble in salvage parts recovered a bunch of injectors some time ago, and can't recall what these came out of.
They have a silver metal body with a dull yellow plastic top. They have EV-1 connectors and four hole pintle. The top of the injectors are slotted for a retainer clip just like my existing Seimens, but the bottom definitely has four holes instead of just one. I've searched on line for the P/N,and have had no luck finding anything. P/N on the side of the upper part of the injector is 780150943.
I found some on EBay that look like these injectors, but there is no similar part number listed. Here are the EBay units; http://www.ebay.com/itm/87-97-Jeep-C...-/281984304973
Anyone know what these are and if they are a step up from the stock Siemens injectors?

I bought these ones:

They are 4 hole injectors. I've been very happy with them, especially for the price.

The price of the injectors I'm trying to find out about will be about half the price of the ones in the link aroundincircles listed, which is why I'm trying to find out if they are worth swapping for the OEM injectors in my Jeep.

I don't know the price they are but have you looked in the buy/sell area here? There are several people selling reconditioned injectors for the 4.0's very reasonable cleaned new O-rings etc.

I have communicated with one seller in classified sction. I don't doubt he provides a good set of injectors, but 703's will run me about $90. The injectors I'm trying to find out about will be about $30 (possibly free) and a couple miles away. If they aren't an improvement over OEM, I'll be looking at classifieds again. I thought it was worth a post to find out about these injectors that are cheap and almost next door. I even get to pick through / test them, but I'd like to find out their origin and if their characteristics indicate they are an improvement over OEM.

Maybe I over-described the situation. Here's a second try.
I have access to some injectors local to me for very cheap or possibly free. The number on the injectors is 780150943. They look like the picture below, which is almost identical to the OEM Siemens injectors in my Jeep except for the color of the upper half.
Edit; Looking through a magnifying glass I can see what appears to be a "Ford" logo just above the 780150943.
Does anyone know what they are and if they are any better than my OEM injectors?
Thanks in advance for your knowledge.

those look just like the ones that I installed in my jeep a wile ago. They have been working fine no problems at all. Look at the numbers in my signature. those are the ones I have now. look at number 280150943 that 2 could look like a 7 if it has been scraped. I looked up some specs and those will be running more lean then you are running now. You may want to look for 0280-150-556 (which I have) or 0280-150-557 (witch are slightly richer). the 943 injectors will fit but might starve your engine leading to other problems. standard fuel pressure for 98 XJ 4.0 is 49.2 +-5 so my flow rate number may differ from yours
here is the site I found the info at http://www.fuelinjector.citymaker.co...low_Rates.html

Those look like these Ford Mustang 5.0L 19lb Bosch Fuel Injector
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-of-8-Reb...lTamoH&vxp=mtr
Your XJ with stock injectors
'91-'93, ........33007127, .........Brown, ..........39psi, .................21.0lb/hr
These Ford injectors should flow 19.0lb/hr @ 39psi so you will be slightly lean
They would work for an '87-'90,
........53003956, .........Black, ...........39psi, .................18.6lb/hr

Now that is known, you say it appears these have less flow than the stock Siemens injectors? I probably don't want to go that direction, although with the MPG my XJ gets, lean sounds pretty good
I'll look elsewhere to see what I can find. These were going to be the right price. $0.
Maybe he has some of the correct type; he has several...

Do you have an ultra-sonic cleaner to clean old injectors with before you rebuild and install them into your Jeep? Any used injectors need to have this done.

I do not have a way to sonically clean injectors, but I just ordered some from member JHC7399 that are sonically cleaned. They are also the correct flow for my '95 p/n (0280155703).
Since I have this set of injectors that will work for an 87-90, I'll be offering those for sale cheap fairly soon.
Do you know anyone that refurbishes &/or modifies stock injectors? I'm going to have some ready fo cleaning and refurbishing soon.....
