Default Diagnostic Trouble Code P1294

Engine light came on.
Went to Advance Auto Parts to have my Diagnostic Checked.
It came up: Code P1294, Idle Speed Malfunction.
Looked it up in my Haynes Manual.
The manual couldn't tell me a dag gum thing!!!

Can someone please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Idle has been a little high for a while now.
Don't know how to clear the code.
TPS?

You could try cleaning your Idle Air Control. It's located on the throttle body.

So i have replaced my IAC, my TPS and my MAP. I cleaned my throttle body, and cleared the code. Code was gone for about 4 days. Unplugged and cleared it all over again, then everyday same issue of check engine light turning on and having to redo everything with the IAC. So i took the replaced IAC off to check it cause maybe it was a faulty part, and what do you know it sprung into pieces taking it off. So with the warranty i replaced it, and it started running fine again, but now 3 says later the same code pops back up... Any idea why? Faulty part again, have yet to check? Something else?

You might want to closely inspect the wiring involved....may have a bare spot wore into it. You might even want to peel back the plastic protector insulation. Also make sure your connectors are clean and not cracked.

I am not an expert...just offering my thoughts...

good luck
