Cruiser's Renix Distributor Tip. Why??
I've done it by eyeball many times.
Actually, they always seemed to run the best that way as compared to mucking around with feeler gauges and dwell meters

Oh, for the simple days ..............

Thanks for your write ups Cruiser.
I recently had my engine rebuilt. When I slapped it back in the Jeep was missing on light throttle... during the time my engine was being rebuild I also changed the injectors and cleaned/adjusted my throttle body So I didn't know what was causing it.
Anyway... long story short. My distributor was way off. The contact was even with the post maybe a little before.
Performed your distributor indexing and now it runs awesome.

Oh okay, I think I may need to turn a bit more then, the trailing edge was just barely touching at this point.
So you're saying the rotor metal needs to have left the terminal completely and there's .02" of empty space between the two?
Sorry, I just want to be sure before I potentially ruin my engine. Possible?
