Sweet Fancy Moses! You're right! I never noticed. It was that way when I bought it, so someone must've had it off. haahaa
Well, since I need to take it off now, should I paint the grille and bumper black? I've been tossing it around and have mixed feelings. I know it would look good black but the chrome is pretty clean...

Gotcha. The theory being: Air temp is better read in the AC Housing and the MAP would actually be reading Manifold Pressure, as opposed to Throttle Body pressure? Makes sense. Have you tried it?

Sweet classic Renix you have there and well done on the mods.
In my opinion, leave the bumpers chrome since they are in great shape and fit the classic look!!

I'd leave them chrome as well. They are in such good condition.
If you want to experiment with colors, you could pick up a spare set of bumpers and grille, etc. and paint those black.

Thanks guys, I was kinda leaning toward leaving them chrome and I think I will.
I went out and looked at the upside down grille and my fog lights are touching it and protruding into the gaps. I'm wondering if the lights will have enough room if I turn it around. It doesn't look bad, just different... kinda looks mean when you see it in person, with the slant on top.

Thanks boss! I will definitely put that on the list.
Don't think I mentioned but I also cut the no-whistle plug (or whatever the eff it is) out of the airbox, since I had it all apart. Figured more flow is a good thing. Also found out an old buddy of mine just opened his own machine shop, after years of being a slave to the man. I'm going to see if he feels like boring out my TB and fabbing a new butterfly. He is a sharp dude, so I trust him.
.... and I just checked tracking and my ECU is "out for delivery"! Might get to put that bad boy in tonight, if Brown gets there early enough.

Excellent. Thanks. Just plug-n-play? It will bolt right in?
And ya know, the better I get the engine running, the more I am irritated with the shifting scenario. I'm going to get a different TCU next payday... I got a couple of leads but starting to get funny looks from the wife over UPS showing up with a new part every other day.

Dude, Cruiser, you rock! Taking the bracket off was way easier than trying to cram my big hairy carcass under the dash to fondle the other bolts loose. Took me 10 minutes to swap them.
Took it for a quick spin around the block to make sure it still runs but I'll have to give a full report after I put some miles on it. I'd like to say it felt better but I can't tell for sure yet. All the other stuff, ground refresh, plugs, injectors, etc... have it running so sweet already. Man I'm itching to get my hands on a new TCU. Lulz

I'm pretty sure mine didn't come from the factory like that. Mine was in a fender bender at some point in its life... Minor bumper damage and aftermarket battery bracket, cracked fan shroud, etc... Nothing serious but I'm guessing it broke the grille too and whoever fixed it just put the grille on wrong. I can totally tell it is supposed to be the other way, now that it has been pointed out. I'm going to leave it. Gives my fog lights some room and looks kinda mean, like angry eyes without the tape. Haahaa
