Wikipedia used to have a great breakdown of what gears came in what years with which engines and transmissions, but it appears that someone wrote a new article that glossed that part over and deleted the info. IIRC, most I6 with autos (after 1990) have 3.73 gears, or thats what Ive been going on. I really need to find out as it could either be 3.73 or 3.90, which makes a big difference on the carrier of the D30.
4.10s were also found in some Upcountry packages as well, I think, but then you might just as easily find a D44 in one or those. I havent seen one personnally to date, and only one '85 cherokee chief that had 4.10s but the axles were already sold (but not picked up yet).
Of course, if you end up having to buy gears, you could just get an exploder 8.8 rear with 4.10 and only have to buy one gear for the front. I got mine for 50.

I think you read his post wrong. You asked what gears were in an I4, he said usually 4.10 for autos and 3.55 for manuals.

That's what I've done .... Did the ford 8.8 swap with 4.10's and limited slip off a 97 explorer and just had to regear front .... Found a steel on eBay for the Dana 30 ... 4.10's and carrier for 100 bucks , 120 shipped to my door .... Guy had lots of 4.10 gears for the Dana 30 high pinion .... Just got my gears last week so he may still have more available when I ordered he had 10 sets left.

I know this isnt on the current topic but i just have to say that i took everyone's advice and back flushed my heater core and the heat now blows hotter than any vehicle i have ever owned. Thanks for all the help, you guys are awesome!
cause i dont want a stiff ride, i saw that the f150 coils would be super stiff

I was gonna do this for a while before finding a set of lift coils on craigslist.
There are two different ones - from a v6 Tbird and a v8 Tbird. The v6 ones are better since they have a lower spring rate. Years 83-97
You will also need the cap plate from the strut, and need some "J-hook" retainers for the top.

Not seeing it.. are there JY track bars that can be used for different lift heights?
I've also been searching online, and it sounds like TJ rear coils give -4" of lift on XJ fronts. For example, a 4" lift rear TJ coil would give stock height if installed on an XJ front end. Can anyone confirm?

Rear TJ coils will not fit on an XJ
Front TJ coils will yield -1" on an XJ. I have 4" TJ coils to achieve 3" lift on my XJ

what if i took another xj main and cut the ends and added it? how much lift would that give me? im lookin to get about 5" of lift, was thinkin a bastard pack and dakota shackles, i need to get rid of these crappy lift blocks!!
