Default broken manifold

I need to know how long my jeep is going to need to be down. I broke two of the down pipes off of the manifold I don't think it did any damage to the engine block. this jeep is my daily driver and i cant afford to drive my truck at 6mpg. I have a parts jeep and have the manifold off of it. but it was all ready apart.

depends how fast you are. my first manifold took 8hrs. I'm down to about 3 hrs now. air tools make a big difference.

You sure do. Intake and intake manifold are the biggest things

XJs don't leak oil from many different locations. It's usually either the RMS, Oil Filter adapter, or valve cover. A new header doesn't mean engine rebuild but it's your jeep. A new APN header is $140.

Just did mine. You might want to have some new injector O rings handy. My header pipe nuts happened to be a piece of cake, but one broken manifold bolt really slowed me down, you might want to squirt what you can ahead of time. I have a heat shield. Your probably gonna want to clean the TB and the injector holes, so a can of TB cleaner will probably come in handy. With the manifolds off you get into lots of stuff. You can reach the CPS, freeze plugs, the mount...you might want to give it all day. Might also have some dielectric grease for putten the wiring connectors back.

Looong extension with a universal for the very back bolt. The back, bottom one is a little tough, but not so bad.

I've taken about 10 intakes off various year XJs at junkyards to sell them and getting to the exhaust manifold doesnt take that long. The hardest part of getting an exhaust manifold off for me when I've done that is undoing it at the bottom where it starts to curve and joins the rest of the exhaust.

Let us know how it goes. All the grizzly details, (then the 02 sensor fell into the trany, and when that Gerbil came out he was really angry). I want to know these things.
