Have a battery load test done .Postive clamp at the end of the pos.cable away from the battery . ground cable to the block or heavy bracket.sounds like a black oxide problem where the power feed for the joins the pos batt cable.

What did the battery voltage drop to when you cranked the engine over? 12.5 volts don't mean a thing until you put a load on the battery.

I think you've hit a good point. Check the battery cables and connections before spending any $$. Clean, tight connections, no "crunchiness" in the cables, good ground connections.... doesn't take much resistance in a high-current circuit to drop the voltage to troublemaking levels.
Ok I checked everything to the starter its good and then got a new alternator bc it needed one.. My ground is good all lights turn on when key is turned.. But when I turn to start it everything shuts off? I have the service manual and did everything it said to any help?
