With no spark its either computer related, or your cps is not giving a signal to spark. I had the same issue a few weeks back, found out the wires going from the cps connector down to the sensor were damaged.and melted because the exhaust header was touching them. I wiggle the wires going down to the sensor and it fores right up.

My guess is the cps is having issues now. Have you gone through any water or anything like that before the alternator went bad?

I just bought the jeep 3 days ago knowing it needed an alternator.. But I broke the neutral safety switch and my dad said that also tells the motor to spark or not so much im going to pick one up from my friend.. The wire thats off on the coil is part of the plug in I followed that and its spliced and a black wire comes off and just sits there so I plugged it into a sensor that was missing a place and its fit perfectly

The if you correctly bypassed the nss it would still crank. I don't believe the nss on these control spark, just the starter. It tells the.computer that the vehicle.is not in gear. It wont start in gear only "p" and "n"

i thought you had said you broke the switch? if your trying to find out about spark, like desertxj said check the crankcase position sensor. you could always make a starter switch with heavy gauge wire and a momentary swich but put a fuse in it incase you run into other issues, and definetly check your grounds

Hmmm sounds like everyone is saying cps. That's probably what I would check.
