awkward problem help

Default awkward problem help

Ok I have power a good ground but when I turn the key everything shuts off then comes back on and my starter clicks once? I have 12.51 volts any suggestions

Dude tap your starter with a hammer. Then try to stsrt it. And if nothing than its your starter

Have a battery load test done .Postive clamp at the end of the pos.cable away from the battery . ground cable to the block or heavy bracket.sounds like a black oxide problem where the power feed for the joins the pos batt cable.

no offence but, any machanical advice that starts with hitting it with a hammer isn't probably the best advice.

In this case tho thats where Id go with it. lol just keep the hammer small

What did the battery voltage drop to when you cranked the engine over? 12.5 volts don't mean a thing until you put a load on the battery.

I think you've hit a good point. Check the battery cables and connections before spending any $$. Clean, tight connections, no "crunchiness" in the cables, good ground connections.... doesn't take much resistance in a high-current circuit to drop the voltage to troublemaking levels.

Ok I checked everything to the starter its good and then got a new alternator bc it needed one.. My ground is good all lights turn on when key is turned.. But when I turn to start it everything shuts off? I have the service manual and did everything it said to any help?
