Default 98 XJ Runs but shuts off randomly.. help!!

ok so heres my problem, i have a 98 XJ and it doesnt happen at any certain time but it shuts off while driving or just sitting... at first it only did it every once in a while but today while i was on the way to work it did it 4 times in a row but it always starts again afterwards sometimes it takes a couple cranks though... so i was thinking CPS or the Ballast? any input would be great. thanks guys.

do a search on how to test the cps, I would be leaning towards that as well.

could be the negative pressure vaccum pullled it off. It will only start again soo many times before it fails and can not draw fuel through

1. Resolve that fuel line issue! A fuel line popping off is a serious fire hazard.

2. Test that crank sensor. It can definitely give you symptoms such as you describe. If you buy one, buy it directly from Jeep for the best reliability AND longevity. Well worth the extra $20.
