Yep, the ignition coil and pickup sensor are next on my list, then go from there. Thanks

one of my '96 would stumble sometimes (but not stall)

one day, while standing outside my black '96, idling at night, I noticed it dropped out all power, as the tail lights went out!
just for an instant, vehicle did not stall, weird one that I never sorted, the vehicle got smashed, and is now a farm truck

doubt that is your issue, but worth ruling out

there is some good advice for you on this thread, if ur systematic

its challenging to find the time & courage to diagnose

as this thread indicates, sensors can interact

[QUOTE=Cummins93;3554834]I still want to know your scan gauge live data while key on engine off and key on engine on idling at operating temp. Just these 2 sets of data may help get your problem resolved. Mechanical fuel pressure is important as well but let's say you have bad fuel pressure and the vehicle is stumbling/ shuting off at idle with high fuel trims that is important data. If your are idling with a TPS voltage of 60% this is also important. Maybe that new CTS reads -20degrees on a 60 degree day...which I've personally seen. If all operating data is within normal range that is still important. Bullet point list them.

What brand of CPS did you put into your XJ? - I put in a Standard, I know... should have been Mopar, have the old one if nothing else works.
How does that downstream harness look? - Harness looks good.
Wrapped up in some electrical tape?- No
Bare wires showing?- No

Same goes for the upstream o2 harness. I had the signal wire from the upstream get pinched by the ecm bolt (obd1 ecu). Caused all sorts of chaos. But I started with back probing sensors to rule them out. Eventually leading me to a pinched wire - Upstream O2 is new, and not pinched.

Hell man, I barely know how to read this scanner, its all new to me, trying to learn as I go. I'll see what I can find out on the live data while key on engine off and key on engine on idling at operating temp.On the TPS voltage, what is the range suppose to be at idle? I'm going to get a Mobile Mechanic to come to me, so maybe I can get the answers to what you've asked.

Thanks for your help.

Default Problem Fixed

Finally figured out my problem. Was on the harness side of the CPS connector, took apart the connector and re-crimped the wires, bent to a slight angle to fit tighter, zip tied it so it couldn't move, just in case, and now I have no more intermittent cut out while driving or sitting at idle.

Sometimes, its the simplest things.... Hope this helps someone in the future.
