Hi folks,
I'm trying to help out my brother in law who has an 04 Grand Cherokee which is trying to kill him. He says that he can be driving along quite happily for miles and suddenly the thing just dies. It'll restart again and run fine until the next time. Seeing as this is a diesel, it does cut out the whole ignition side of the problem - but his local Jeep dealer is still stumped.
Does anyone have any ideas? or at least some questions that I should be asking him to get a better idea of what is going on?
all help much appreciated.
Thanks,
Morat

I don't know much about Jeep diesels, but there may be a rollover fuel pump cut-off sensor that may be set too touchy. My wife's girlfriend had a Ford Escort that every time she hit a bump, the engine died. Ford fixed that one. From what I've noticed, Jeep dealers in the UK are not very helpful. Try a heavy truck repair shop. (lorry?)
Yeah, you've touched on the main problem... Jeep knowledge on the net is mainly in the USA and you guys didn't get diesels. I'll mention the roll over cut off switch, and see if I can get a multimeter onto it next time I see him.
thanks!
thanks!
