Default 91 xj wiring nightmare HELP!!!!!!!

hello everyone i have a 91 xj with way more problems then id like to have but whatever its a jeep thing. Ok so i recently rebuilt my 4.0 and i plopped it in a couple days ago and heres what happened i hooked up my header panel and i have no headlights and weak running lights. on the inside the entire dash is lit up i mean everything highbeam indicator both turn signals lit up but dim. also when i pull the headlight switch the rear defroster comes on i also replaced the steering column ok as long as i confused everyone ill stop now and wait for a reply

Headlights aren't grounded and the system is seeking a ground through the instrument lights?

if the headlights seek a ground through the dash then the headlights would work if they were grounded and that still doesnt explain the turn signals

All the lamps in the instrument cluster share a common ground and most are operated off the headlamp switch. The reason I mention headlamps in particular is that you removed the header panel. Could be the parklamps in the panel seeking ground....
No problem before header panel removal?

no i have removed it a number of times with no trouble i did try disconnecting just the head lamps with some sucess the hazards started working after that i hope this helps

Ok so I have done some homework and soldering and got the headlights to work disconnected it went out for a few hours and tried again and everything works just fine I soldered one wire for the blinkers a ground wire and I didn't even hook it up.......... So a jeep with an attitude or what
