Radiator was out long time ago. Had the closed loop radiator anyways. Got it for sale on craigslist.

Engine tore down and cleaned. Went with a new camshaft rather than a regrind. Waiting for head to return from machine shop and Metallic blue to come in the mail. Started painting the pans gloss black.

I could be wrong because I don't know much about computer controlled vehicles but I don't think matters where you set your #1 Just as long as you follow the firing order.

Yeah I thought so. Computers. On some big blocks the vacumme advance hits the ac compressor if turned to far. I always just pulled the distributor and moved #1 one plug clockwise then followed firing order.

Is that hole on my block at the top of my timing chain normal/ok? Not connected to a water jacket. It should be ok. Right?

You're 100% sure of that?

It's completely normal and on every 4.0 I've ever seen.

I pulled the cover off of my blown engine and it was the same. Been hitting it hard today. Everything coming together.

I have no Idea. I just know its there. Maybe for drain back purposes? I noticed the oil slinger on the crankshaft isn't slinging oil from the oil pan. So that might be how the slinger gets its oil? Its a simple pushrod engine but it has more technology than the Apollo Moon Lander controlling it.
