its parked at zero and odometer doesnt move its an 89 so its all cable driven.

jeep has a brand new clutch and everything seems hooked up.

Where should i check first to diagnose the problem...what seems more common. Should i pull out the cluster or unplug it from the transfer case. Which one is it from the transfer case theres a lot of stuff going to it.

 

It is the cable going to the xfercase,unscrew it and make sure it is not broke,more than likley it is behind the cluster,I would suggest making sure it is connected to the cluster and the the cruise control under the dash,the cruise control is a suacer looking pulse module with wires coming off it.
It is all mechanical from the xfercase to the cluster except the cruise control speed input.

 

Take the cable off at the transfer case and put a drill on it if the speedo moves its the gear in the the transfer case if it does not move its most likely the cable.
