Default 88 cherokee no start

It was a slow crank this morning got gas then no start at all pop started her then I went to school I can hear just the fuel pump thats it no click from the starter what fuse is the starter and wht relay is it

Battery or loose cable check them all

1. Remove battery cables. Clean them and battery posts until they are SHINY.

2. Never hurts to refresh grounds while you are at it

3. If above doesn't help, take your battery to a parts store and ask them to "load test" it. Load testing is the only accurate way of determining battery condition

There's no fuse in the starter circuit. Battery connections first. This may help you in the future to address your Jeep's irregularities:

In newer XJ's like a 1998, there ARE fuses/relays in the starter circuit, right?
