Default 4x4 stuck!! No vacume lines help

So I have a 1991 Jeep cheroke lorado with the l6 motor. The person that owned it before me had the front drive shaft in the back seat with no universal joint so I bought one and put it in. My four wheel drive works but won’t kick out no matter what I do or try. I’ve tried throwing it in reverse and at 10-15 mph and everything else I’ve read and no luck. One thing I noticed was all the vacume lines that’s for the 4x4 acuator are completely gone. Could that be the problem? And how do I go about running new ones should I just find one at a junk yard with the lines and put them on mine? It has the shifter in the floor. 4 low , n, full time for wheel drive , part time four wheel drive and 2 high. I know it’s in 4x4 cause the front wheels jerk on black top

They probably have the vacuum actuator locked which is a good idea because they are prone to failure. Are your tire sizes the same? The np242 has a hard time shifting if the tire sizes aren't the same.

242 wasn't equipped with disconnect axle.

That's what I thought but the OP said it had 4 low, full time, 4x4 high, and 2wd so someone may have swapped the front axle and locked the CAD.

Get the number of your transfer case off the tag on the driver's side of the case. Post that up.
