31's on Stock Height? Need some help.
I need to get some new tires asap. I will be getting a 3 inch lift this summer so I want to get 31 inch tires. Can this work? Will they only rub at full lock? Will they rub during normal driving? I will not cut fenders.
ps. I will be doing zero offroading.
The wheels are the stock icons. What size tire do I tell the shop if the 31's will fit?

Im gonna put it this way. I have 3in lift and 32x11.5s and i scrub under normal driving. I do have a much higher offset rim than factory. Do some searching and you will find your answer on this.

I did some searching and all of the answer pertained to offroad driving or did not answer the questions I asked.

There's no definite answer. Does your suspension sag at all? If you have fresh leaves and coils then you could probably run them with rub at full lock. But if your sagging you'll rub without trimming. I'm running a 29" tire and it fills my wheel wells up pretty good because of my old suspension. You could always get a set of craigslist burner wheels to last you until you can get the lift on

You will get some slight rubbing on the fender flares depending on how saggy your suspension is, and also likely your lower control arms when turning if you're sticking with stock wheels.

I'm running 235s on a 3" lift. I would rub on my LCAs if my D30 didn't have limiting bolts on the knuckles. I also rub on the inside rear fender but only at full stuff... which is much harder to do now that I have new leafs.
I've had the tires longer than the lift and with my old, saggy leafs the rear tires would rub constantly with any load (or passengers) in the back, it was almost undrivable with a rear-seat passenger and a full tank of gas. No pre-lift issues at the front, though.
