Default 2k XL glass in a 90 XJ

Hi all, Jim here. Im new to this board & still checking out all the info.

I recienty picked up a 1990 xj and a 2000 xj Sport for parts.

Someone please tell me if the 2000xj glass will fit in my 1990xj. I like the tint on the 2k glass.
Thanks all

Hi Jim and welcome to CF!

Simple phone call to an auto glass place should settle the matter.

You sure about the rear door glass not fitting?

I know the front door glass doesn't.

I ended up using the whole newer door on my older one but the striker for the door latch is was different.....again ask me how do I know..... well after spending hours fighting the torx bolts out and into my new door I spent another hour figuring out the wires to make my newer door work then masked it off and painted it black to match and when it was all done I went to shut it and figured out its not the same soooo I pulled out the round striker and chucked it into my drill and ran it against my bench grinder (my hillbilly lathe) until it fit the newer latch

Look at my explanation on the thread post "Windshield for a Jeep XJ" for detailed windshield install and expectations.

The answer to your question is "YES" the windshield will fit. You need a "DW01140" windshield and the moulding.

Also have a lengthy explanation in the thread "Leaky windshield concern".

I forgot about that thread. Maybe I need to do a training series for CF.
