2000 XJ with a no crank issue
Hi I new to this site and im having problem with an 2000 Cherokee Sport 4x4 that I just purchased, First off the jeep has been sitting since 2002 and has only 19k miles on it, but the issue im having is that the jeep won't start from the ignition switch all the time, you try from the ignition switch and theres nothing but just dash lights, now if you go out to the starter and jump the small wire to the big wire she starts with no problem. I have cleaned all of my connections and tried starting in neutral but no luck.
Maybe someone could shed some light on this for me. Thanks in advance

Try bypassing the neutral safety switch. If this allows it to start via the key, you either need to refurbish or replace your NSS.
Here is a link that includes the "how to" on bypassing the NSS. Should only be done as a troubleshooting tool, as the NSS does more than allow the engine to turn over.
