Default 98 XJ with possible knock, what do you think?

Truck has 200k plus and was sitting for few weeks, was fine before. Went to start it, battery was dead, after recharging it once i fired up the engine it had this noise/knock that increased with speed.

Having trouble ID what the issue is, any feedback is great.

To me, that doesn't sound like a rod knock. It almost sounds like your clutch fan is hitting itself against the fan shroud. Does your fan wobble?

It does sound similar to fan hitting the frame below, however I don't see the fan slow down and it does not have the fresh metal marks that would indicate its making contact with the frame. The engine mounts are still intact as well.

I was almost thinking a bearing in the alternator one of the pulleys (not sure if they even have bearings). I feel like the noise is coming from bottom passenger side is what drives me there.

I would use either a mechanic's stethoscope or a screwdriver to hear where it's coming from. Pop the hood, start the engine, and start putting your stethoscope or screwdriver in different places to see if you get any odd sounds. It's possible that the alternator or pulley is going out.

Each one of the pulleys has a bearing of some kind. The alternator, AC compressor, water pump, and power steering pump all have pulleys. So do the idler and tensioner.

I second the advice on figuring out exactly where the noise is coming from.

Lol found the problem, a hex head for a screw tool was wedged into the frame and rubbing the side of the fan.

>.< thx for help.

It might even be a collapsing lifter, judging by the fact that it was initially quiet.
