97 XJ with a aw4

Alright so I have used the lovely search function and have found the diagrams posted by CCKen and Radi for testing the TCM pins for Solenoid A, B, and C on pins 13, 12, and 11 respectively.

Pins 12 and 13 tested fine at around 13 ohm but pin 11 for solenoid C shift solenoid is nothing. Not zeros but actually no change on the multimeter. From what I read if the solenoid is bad it will will read high like 30+ ohm but I am getting nothing.

Secondly I went to check the 8 pin plug near the oil dipstick and I don't have one. There is the NSS plug, the C107 and another that is staggered and appears to have 8, but one pin is blank and thus only has 7. Is this the one I'm looking for and can I test from this side as well? Last the only symptom is that the RPM is too high at about 2300 at 50mph. If I roll downhill at this speed itll drop to 1000 and periodically try to bump up in RPM but only makes it to 1100 before giving up.
I just don't want to toss money at it until I know what I need to buy. I am pretty certain its the C solenoid but with no reading at all it has me hesitant. Thanks for the help.

The black 6-pin connector is for the shift solenoids. Next to that should be a gray 8-pin connector, for the NSS (one pin will be empty, leaving 7). And then C107 next to it. All three are in the same place.

Thanks, apparently I seeing a different diagram with 8 labeled for the solenoids.
Do you have a diagram for the 6 pin so I can test there as well? Any thoughts on the no ohm reading on the TCM connector?

Black 6-pin connector:

Pin 1 - black (ground)
Pin 2 - not used
Pin 3 - white (solenoid A)
Pin 4 - lt gray/white (output speed sensor signal)
Pin 5 - dk blue/white (solenoid C)
Pin 6 - orange/white (solenoid B)

No readings on the TCM connector? Could be a broken wire. Dont know for sure.

Thanks. Hopefully I won't be hunting for a wire in the loom.

Replying for future Google searchers - It ended up being a completely shot Solenoid C. Solenoids A and B were completely fine but were replaced anyway since I bought the Toyota solenoid/gasket/filter kit.

Thanks for the update. What problem got you looking at the solenoids?

Those two codes on the title post and I noticed that at 50mph the RPM was way too high at 2300 or so. No OD/4th kicking in and basically murdering my already terrible gas mileage.

Thanks. I have a new to me RHD '97 TJ that seems to have lost its OD/4th gear. I will follow your lead and see what I come up with. Thanks again.
