my jeep has these codes p0700 sais transmission controle module malfuntion and p0705 sais transmission range sensor malfuntion . the tranny does not slip at all the fluid is red and smells nice not burnt . its just when im driving usually in 4th gear (od) it keeps shifting down to 3rd and back up to 4th like its ''searching for a gear '' anyone have this or something similar happen to them before ?

 

has your detent cable ever been adjusted there is a thread on here about doing it it would not hurt to try it

 

Common to see these codes when you have an issue with the "neutral safety switch". They often can be cleaned, greased and refurbished to return full function. Here is a link.
