[QUOTE=fb97xj1;3498422]Touched up some of the inner door panels (C3 Mist Gray) as they were faded on top. Bought a couple cans of C3 Mist Gray from Genos Garage, since the dealer didnt have any. Some claim it sprays too light, or too dark. So i tested it on the backside of a scrap panel. It came out too light, and stayed that way. However, when sprayed in very very light bursts using a quick sweeping motion, it darkens almost instantly to the proper shade. I cant even tell where the paint was applied vs the original panel. It dries very well and has yet to rub thru or wear off, but have only been sprayed maybe 2 weeks ago. How well it holds up in the hot sun longterm,I still have not found any other sprays that match Mist Gray.[/Q

Try this place, it's where I found my Siena Pearl.

So, I just finished swapping in a new pump and new return hose, bleed the system and the pulsating is still there (did it just now, so this thread is relevant!). When I had the front end jacked up, I hand-turned the wheels and gave them a quick shake. I did hear some rotational resistance but thought nothing of it.

What do you folks think it could be? Now I'm thinking it's either the gearbox itself, the unit bearings, or the axle u-joints (which is what the internet seems to be saying). I already made the mistake of chucking parts at it - trying to minimize that here.
First suspect that everyone seems to check last is the tires. Not all tire separations are plain and obvious. Jack them up and spin them... Always start there first... I learned that from my friend and fellow member here Martlor... lol

Firstly, get a helper to turn the wheel back and forth while you crawl under the front and check for any play. Look specifically at the tie rod ends, steering gear/pitman arm, and the track bar bushings.

If all of those are fine, jack the front end up and check the ball joints for up/down play, and check the axle shaft u-joints for any issues

Gotta be one of those. If your XJ has never had any front end work done, and you are handy with a wrench, you can do a front end rebuild for about $200 in one day.

Or an imbalanced tire or bent rim, a bad bushing at any of the eight control arm ends, a wallowed out track bar mounting bracket at either end, or a bad hub

Know how many on here who have rebuilt their whole front steering components and still had the hop?

I think when trying to diagnose an issue that you start with the cheapest possible cause first. Then go from there...

"Worst case" scenario is not always the final effect from the cause... We tend to jump right to that for some reason...

Just another 4cyl except converting it over to MPI this time. I scrapped/salvaged a 94 XJ with the 2.5L MPI wiring harness, ecu and engine accessories. It's just a putz toy now. I've been selling off all my spare XJ/MJ stuff as I nolonger want all of it.

Stroked or stock? And if you have any good mj taillights I definitely want some and have money right now.

I picked up a front Dana 44 out of a 2005 TJ Rubicon today. 4.10 gears, factory locker, and heavy duty diff cover.

Hope you didn't spend too much lol. Some of those prices people want for them is crazy compared to just building a d30

Picked up the block, crank, head, and pistons for the Comanche engine. I should have all the parts for the engine so now I just need to put it together
