Default UConnect 5.0 RA2 to 8.4A or 8.4N RA3/RA4 Upgrade: IT CAN BE DONE!!!

Just in case anyone has a 2014+ Grand Cherokee (WK2) with the UConnect 5.0BT (RA2) radio and wishes they had the UConnect 8.4A (RA3) radio or UConnect 8.4N (RA4) radio, THE UPGRADE CAN BE DONE!!! You'll need to order a kit from oemautopartsco.com which will include the radio and programming for your vehicle (you'll need to give them your VIN number so that they can enable the features you already have on your vehicle, such as heated front seats, to the new radio). You won't be able to gain UConnect ACCESS features, but all other features (nav, HD Radio, etc., if equipped) will be added with the new system, and you'll be provided a purple-colored pigtail connector that will connect to the back of the radio that will "trick" the new radio into thinking you have UConnect ACCESS so that it doesn't keep telling you it has no cellular data connection (if you don't have the UConnect ACCESS system). Here's how the installation is done, as per their (oemautopartsco.com)'s website: (NOTE: I IN NO WAY WORK FOR OR AM ASSOCIATED WITH THE COMPANY, JUST THOUGHT I'D SHARE IN CASE YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS UPGRADE):

1.) Use your fingers to pry outwards on the audio system/climate control panel. Once the panel is out, disconnect the connectors going to the panel. You may need to open your coin tray below the compartment to easily access the panel.
2.) Now you'll need to move the HVAC vents from the old audio system/climate control panel to the new one. This can be done by careflly prying up on the tabs that hold the vents to the panel, placing them into the new panel, and then pushing back down on the tabs to secure the vents into the new panel.
3.) Use a seven-millimeter (7mm) screwdriver to remove the four (4) bolts holding the factory 5.0BT radio in place. Once the radio is out, disconnect all of the connectors connected to the back of the radio. The connectors are color-coded, so you can't mess up the connections when you install the new radio.
4.) Take the new 8.4A or 8.4N radio and plug all of the factory connections into the back of the radio. Once again, you'll need to plug the purple pigtail connector into the purple port on the back of the radio to "simulate" the UConnect ACCESS connection.
5.) Take the NEW 8.4A or 8.4N and climate control panel and plug the wiring harness coming from the dashboard into the panel.
6.) Secure the 8.4A or 8.4N radio to the dashboard using the four (4) seven-millimeter (7mm) bolts you removed from the OLD 5.0BT radio.
7.) Snap the 8.4A or 8.4N and climate control panel into the dash with your hands.

Once you've installed the radio into the dash, here's what you need to do next in order to finalize the installation:

1.) Power on your vehicle.
2.) Once the radio powers on, you may need to enter a code onto the touchscreen. This code is provided by oemautopartsco.com.
3. If you had SiriusXM Satellite Radio before, you'll need to call SiriusXM and tell them you installed a new radio to activate your subscription.

Just thought I'd share this in case you didn't know about this upgrade!
