how to install Speedhut gauge?

I am in need of installing a programmable Speedhut fuel gauge on my 95 xj I know which wire to connect to for the gauge to read. What I don't know how to do is where to connect everything else. Like a switched power source and how to hook it up to the lights.
I have been looking over wiring diagrams and looking on Google and I can't figure out what to do. If anyone can walk me through how to do it that'd be aweesome. I can attach the instruction manual pdf link if needed.

ok, take the red wire and splice it into a known good key on hot, something like power window, radio, DRL or anything that comes on when you turn on the key.
next, both the whites (gauge and inverter) splice them into a known good hot for your dash lights, eith directly off your headlight switch or off your gauge cluster.
now the next part become the tricky fun s***. Ohm out your fuel pump. should have 4 wires going into it, figure out which one is which. I dont have a diagram in front of me so cant tell you exactly what colors to look for. just take your time, follow wiring and for god sakes, solder and heat shrink your wiring; crimp connections fail and look bad. sorry cant give you solid answer but can get you pointed in the right direction

Based off of what you said it sounds like this wouldn't be the best route?

I may or may not redo it in the future when I have more experience and confidence with electrical work.

Awesome. Thank you. I think I figured out which wires was for the sending unit. It's a blue.
